Frequently asked questions

Does Base64 make an image smaller?

No. Base64 encoding typically adds about one third to the binary size before text compression. For large images, a separate optimized image file is usually more suitable.

Is the output just the Base64 string?

The output is a complete data URL, including its data:image/...;base64, prefix. Keep the prefix when using it as an HTML image source.

Are my image files uploaded?

No. Image processing happens locally in your browser. The website downloads its code and, for AI tools, model assets. Anonymous site usage analytics are separate from your image files.

Is this tool free to use?

Yes. No account or payment is required. Processing capacity depends on your browser, image dimensions, and available device memory.
